Ikko Tanaka

Ikko Tanaka

This artist is a Chinese artist and she works on simplistic imagery and explores a lot of colour in her work, her work is very collage and photo montauged, in her work there is alot going on with her imagery you can almost tell a story visually looking at her work. I want to be able to create something like that with my work. Here are some examples of her work below:

Squares: Ikko Tanaka
This piece this artist has designed is very unique and interesting for that I like how the design has experimented with layering of different colours that may not seem to work well together but work well with this photomontage concept, this was just interesting to look at.

I really like with this piece how Tanaka has experimented with her work, just by using asymmetric imagery which is something I have to work on myself with my imagery and for experimenting with illustrations by using geometric shapes to see what happens, I think this works because it draws you in as it makes me wonder what this piece is about and would make me want to know and find out more which is an aspect I want to try and deliver to my imagery.

With this design By Ikko Tanaka I really like how its been created again with simple shapes yet you can still see what she has created, she's created a Chinese/Japanese lady I really like this concept and hope to try creating imagery like this in future projects if I don't create this kind of imagery now.  I really like how this poster has been arranged, it is all very simplistically laid out, I think it works well and this is more of what I am looking at with her work for this project. To help me with my posters for my work.

This piece really stood out for me as I like how this artist has experimented and edited the mage for the different colours and I like how mysterious this design looks. It works well with the whitened background too with the black strip where they're standing it looks as if they are about to jump off something. How this image was edited is what has inspired me to try and look at if I have time to in my project or future projects to come.

What I liked with this typographic poster this artist has created the colours are very bold and I like how there is a black background and how she's then used white blocky type for the word "POSTER" and then the main subject of the word is decorative and the thing that I liked most with this design is how you can see how she has looked into colour theory and used contrasting and complimentary colour schemes this is something I'd want to try and implement with some design concepts for my billboard imagery.
