Screen Printing From Home

Screen Printing From Home

The idea of experimenting with Screen Printing from home was out of boredom and for something different to try after Anne at the beginning of the project mentioned about trying to experiment from home and so I gave screen printing from home an attempt to see what happens. I found this idea inspired by not only with Anne saying about doing screen printing from home but there was a Youtube video about how I go around doing this and I tried my best to follow the guide of the video and experiment.

Their voices were very annoying but I did learn how to do this unfortunately it didn't to plan as to how I hoped but it was still fun to learn and discover.

Step 1
I had to put the tights through the cross stitching hoops, to then draw on the rights with a sharpie on the back of the screen (where the lip of the rings was and then I had to go over my images I designed with glue and white paint and wait for that to dry (as. I am impatient and I wanted to just try this out I dried it with a hair dryer.)

Step 2
With step two consisted of the part of the process of flooding and flushing very much the same as how you screen print at the uni but I used acrylic paint and pea glue and a protractor for the flooding and flushing which is the effect you'd have to do when you use a squidgy to then make sure you're printing this onto paper or a t-shirt, I chose to print on paper as I didn't know if it would go well or not as I never tried screen printing with tights and across stitching ring. Surprisingly the process worked very well but unfortunately the design that came out when I printed this didn't go as well.

Step 3
The finisher, once I finished the screen printing this is what happened with the rights after I washed it up in the sink with hot and soapy water and put my prints out to dry.

Screen prints:

Meant to say End Period Poverty with images of tampons and the ovaries but sadly you can't completely see the design and didn't go as well as I hoped and felt quite disappointed with the outcome. Till a friend of mine said about how it works well with the aesthetic of the project being relating to period poverty and blood, the red makes a blood stain aesthetic which works well, until my friend mentioned that I am happier with the outcome of the prints but she did suggest I'd be better off maybe doing a mono print or  doing Lino printing might work a bit better for bringing the shapes out a bit more. Which was some good feedback.

Screen Print to Digital

Experimented with Photoshop sense using the mobile photoshop app where I thought the image above the print was hardwire to see and wondered what would happen if I experimented with a Photoshop Filter and this is what I ended up creating.
